About Aliso Viejo, CA
The South Orange County city of Aliso Viejo was carefully planned to have a mix of homes, parks, schools, office and shopping areas. Most of the time, the most important places for moving work are the ones that people visit every day, like Pacific Park, Glenwood, Aliso Viejo Town Center and The Commons, Park Avenue around Aliso Viejo Ranch, and nearby HOA homes like Laguna Audubon.
That mix makes moving around in the same place different. Some moves are easy to do in single-family areas from the driveway. Others involve townhomes, condos, or apartments where the placement of the truck, HOA rules, marked curb limits, and the distance from the truck to the front door can all affect timing and labor. Aliso Viejo also has a strong HOA presence, so it is best to know about access early on instead of waiting until the day of the move.
Most of the time, Aliso Viejo’s road access is based on a small group of major routes rather than a dense street grid. In real life, roads like Aliso Creek Road, Pacific Park Drive, Aliso Viejo Parkway, Alicia Parkway, Moulton Parkway, Glenwood Drive, El Toro Road, and Wood Canyon Drive can change the timing of a move. Aliso Creek Road at Aliso Viejo Parkway, Moulton Parkway at Aliso Viejo Parkway, Wood Canyon Road at Pacific Park Drive, Aliso Creek Road at Pacific Park Drive, and La Paz Road at the SR-73 eastbound ramp are some of the intersections that need to be watched and made better according to city planning documents. That’s why the exact address is more important than just the name of the place.
Moving Process in Aliso Viejo, CA
Before the move, during the move, and after the move are the three parts of moving with Move & Care.
The process is easy in general, but Aliso Viejo moves often go more smoothly if a few local details are taken care of ahead of time.
1. Preparation
Once you agree to the estimate and book the date, the next step is to get ready. The most important thing to do before moving is to pack. If you choose our packing service, you can ask us to pack everything or just the parts that make the most sense, like fragile items, the kitchen, artwork, or a room that is hard to get through. Read our packing guide and start early if you’re going to do it yourself. Don’t wait until the last minute.
We suggest you check three things before you move in Aliso Viejo:
- Access to the building and homeowners association. The HOA is in charge of a lot of things in Aliso Viejo, which is a master-planned neighborhood. Ask ahead of time about moving hours, reserved spots, gate access, check-in procedures, and any papers the property may need if you are moving into or out of a condo, townhome, apartment, or HOA-managed neighborhood. We can give you a certificate of insurance if your building needs one.
- Truck rules and parking on the street. The City doesn’t seem to have a page just for moving truck parking permits. It does post rules for oversized-vehicle parking and general forms and rules. These rules are important because many moving trucks are big enough to be affected by them. On public streets, the code lets people load and unload, but they can’t stay at the curb for too long. The rules may be different on private streets. Ask the association or management office what the local rule is if your address is on a private street or in an area that is controlled by an HOA.
- Planning your time around roads and posted restrictions. Aliso Viejo depends on a few key streets, so timing is important. Around Aliso Creek Road, Pacific Park Drive, Aliso Viejo Parkway, Alicia Parkway, and Moulton Parkway, we pay attention to loading windows. This is especially true when the route goes through Town Center, Pacific Park, or SR-73 access points. You should also look at the City’s street-sweeping map to make sure the truck doesn’t happen to be in an area where parking isn’t allowed at that time.
You need a plan to move too. Our moving checklist will help you keep track of all the little things that you might forget, like changing your address and setting up your services.
Ask your moving manager what to look for if you’re not sure. We send more than just movers. We help plan the job so that moving day goes more smoothly.
2. The Move
Our crew shows up at the time we agreed upon on moving day, goes over the plan with you, and then gets to work. We pack and label the agreed-upon things if packing is part of the service. When necessary, we take apart furniture, use moving blankets and bubble wrap to protect big items, and load the truck in a way that keeps the shipment safe while it’s in transit.
Once they agree on a route and time, the crew drives to the location. We can add a stop at a storage unit to the plan ahead of time if that’s what you need.
3. After the Move
When they get there, our movers unload into the rooms you tell them to, put the main things where you want them, and reassemble any furniture that comes with the service. We also take care of unpacking if that was added to the move.
You can check the shipment, make sure everything got where it should, and make sure the basic setup is right before the crew goes. The goal is not only to get the stuff moved, but also to leave you with a place you can use instead of a pile of boxes.
About Pricing
Move & Care has two types of prices: hourly rates for local moves and flat rates for long-distance moves within California or to other states.
For people in Aliso Viejo, the exact access conditions generally determine how long it takes and how much it costs. What are some common factors that affect the price? The distance between the truck and the front door, whether the property is a house or a condo/townhome community, whether HOA or property management rules limit where and when the truck can stop, whether posted street conditions affect curb access, and whether you need extra services like packing, unpacking, furniture disassembly, or storage. That’s why the real job, not just the ZIP code, is used to make the final estimate.
More About PricingF.A.Q. about moving in Aliso Viejo, CA
Yes, our moving company is fully licensed for local moves within the state. While interstate movers are regulated by the United States Department of Transportation (USDOT), local moving companies are regulated by the state. We also have individual state licenses wherever our offices are located: Massachusetts (MC Number: 1018431), North Carolina (NCUC Number: C-3067) and Texas (TXDMV: 009636518C).
Local moves with Move and Care are generated at an hourly rate. When we
determine your moving plan, we also determine the approximate labor time and the
number of movers needed. The number of movers determines the hourly
rate. If your move is large, more movers means faster work and lower cost.
Your quota will give you an approximate cost of the job, the actual cost will be
determined by the actual time spent, which may take a little less or a little more time
(we take into account 15 minute increments).
