About Dripping Springs
Dripping Springs is known as the Wedding Capital of Texas® because it has venues all over the hills. It is also known as the gateway to the Hill Country. Expect more traffic on weekends near event venues and along US-290.
Construction on US-290/Oak Hill "Y" is still going on (with completion anticipated in 2026; source), which can change the estimated time of arrival (ETA) between Austin and Dripping Springs. Our dispatch routes are set up to reflect this.
We serve a lot of people in Belterra, Headwaters, Highpointe, and Sawyer Ranch, as well as Driftwood and Wimberley, which are close by. 78620 is the ZIP code.
🌿 Tip for the weekend: Hamilton Pool Preserve and Pedernales Falls are nearby. They are great places to relax after the move. Hours and reservations are different.
How your move with Move and Care works
1) Preparation
You can choose how much help you want from us after you get a quote and set a date. You can get a full-service pack, a partial pack, or do it yourself with our help. If you're doing the packing yourself, start at least a week ahead of time and label each room.
- Access & parking: Most neighbourhoods in Dripping Springs don't need city permits for moving trucks. The city uses a Street Closure/Special Event process for temporary closures (like events). We'll help you with that. A COI may be needed for HOAs or apartments.
- Route planning: When we set up load-out and delivery times, we keep an eye on traffic on US-290 and Oak Hill works.
- Checklist: Utilities transfer, lift reservations, a pet plan and a 'first-night' box are all on the list. Don't forget about it!
Do I need a permit from the city to use a moving truck? No, usually. The City has forms for blocking or closing a street or being part of an event. We won't fill out the form for you, but we will give you all the information you need, like the size of the moving truck. Apartments and HOAs may have their own rules.
2) Move day
We get there on time, cover the floors and doors, take apart big furniture, pad and wrap it, and load it in the right order so that it can be unloaded cleanly. Need a place to store things? We'll add it to the route.
3) After delivery
We put boxes in the rooms with their labels, put the furniture back together, and do a final walkthrough before you sign off.

determine your moving plan, we also determine the approximate labor time and the
number of movers needed. The number of movers determines the hourly

Your quota will give you an approximate cost of the job, the actual cost will be
determined by the actual time spent, which may take a little less or a little more time
(we take into account 15 minute increments).

Move and Care provides two types of insurance. Basic insurance (Released Value Protection) - this is free and is included by default in any of our services. Move and Care guarantees liability for no more than 60 cents per pound per item. And Full Value Protection - this insurance means that any damage is fully covered, but there is an additional charge.
The movers will not transport perishable products, nor will they transport any hazardous objects. We also do not transport plants or weapons, and our services do not include animal transportation.
