About Greater Harmony Hills (San Antonio)
In the north central part of San Antonio, Greater Harmony Hills is a neighborhood known for its green streets and mid-century homes, many of which were built between the 1950s and 1960s. In some blocks, the oak canopy is so thick that it shades the road like a cave. This is beautiful for people who live there, but it’s a very good reason for truck drivers to be very careful about how they approach.
For everyday ease, the area is close to major roads like US-281 and Loop 410, which make it easy to get to downtown and the airport. VIA Metropolitan Transit trip planning lets people who take public transport plan their paths through VIA Metropolitan Transit trip planning.
Greater Harmony Hills Neighbourhood Association (GHHNA), which is a neighbourhood group, has tools for people in the area at Greater Harmony Hills Neighborhood Association (GHHNA). The area is covered by North East ISD, which has schools like Harmony Hills Elementary, Eisenhower Middle School, and Churchill High School.
🏙️ To find out about the city officially, go to City of San Antonio. You can get public safety information about your neighborhood from SAPD’s official sites, such as SAPD Transparency & Open Data.
The Process of Moving to Greater Harmony Hills
There are three easy steps to moving with Move and Care: getting ready, moving day, and cleaning up afterward.
1. Preparation
We let you know about access early on after you book because some homes in Greater Harmony Hills are “easy” to get to until you reach the road slope, the close-together curbs, or the low branches. The less time your truck is on the road and the less damage it could do to your home and furniture, the better.
The most important thing is the packing. We will take care of the materials, wrapping, boxes, and labelling if you choose our full packing services. Use our guide on how to pack for a move if you decide to do some or all of the packing yourself.
Tip (furniture protection): In older homes, protect the way as well as the things. Make a “runway,” cover the floors, and put pads on the sides. It will save time and keep things from getting dented if the way is clean. We’ll bring blankets, wrap, and runners.
Many people don’t realise how important parking and getting in are. If you need to reserve space or are moving to a more crowded place, the City can help you with Right-of-Way: San Antonio Right-of-Way (ROW) Permits. You can use San Antonio 311 Services to ask for city services that aren’t emergencies, like help with parking.
Oak canopy note: There are a lot of low branches here. We’ll pick the safest way to get there and the best place to set up, but cutting back overhangs (if allowed) can help avoid scratches and delays.
Use our moving checklist to stay on top of things and avoid a mess at the last minute.
2. Move
Our movers show up on time, go over the plan with you, and set up the things that need to be moved so that they can be handled safely. We protect entryways, pad and wrap furniture, take things apart and put them back together as needed, and load carefully so that they don’t move around while they’re being moved.
❗Pay attention: Please note that we do not move people, animals, plants, hazardous chemicals, or perishable products.
Federal rules for moving home goods protect you as a customer if you are moving long distances. You can look at FMCSA tools such as binding estimate guidance and the federal rules for household goods at 49 CFR Part 375.
3. After the move
When we get there, you tell us how to unload, and we put boxes in rooms and put furniture where you want it. We’ll also take care of unloading if you booked that service. Before the job is done, you can check the items to make sure they came safely.
In case of damage or loss: If there is damage or loss, please take pictures and let your move manager know right away so that we can properly record it and begin the process of fixing it.
You might want to set up utilities and services right away when you move into a city. As an example, CPS Energy gives official steps on how to move or shift here: CPS Energy moving service.
About Moving Prices
Prices vary based on services, distance, and ease of entry.
- Local Moving: Rarely goes over 150 miles, and costs are based on crew size and time per hour.
- Long-Distance Moving: Usually more than 150 miles, and a flat rate is charged based on the items being moved and the route taken.
- Moving & Storage: Monthly storage, as well as moving to and from the building and loading and unloading.
Good-to-know: The FMCSA explains how rates work (binding vs. non-binding) and what you may have to pay at delivery for moves between states. You should leave a mover if they won’t give you clear papers.
F.A.Q. about moving in Harmony Hills
Yes, our moving company is fully licensed for local moves within the state. While interstate movers are regulated by the United States Department of Transportation (USDOT), local moving companies are regulated by the state. We also have individual state licenses wherever our offices are located: Massachusetts (MC Number: 1018431), North Carolina (NCUC Number: C-3067) and Texas (TXDMV: 009636518C).
Local moves with Move and Care are generated at an hourly rate. When we
determine your moving plan, we also determine the approximate labor time and the
number of movers needed. The number of movers determines the hourly
rate. If your move is large, more movers means faster work and lower cost.
Your quota will give you an approximate cost of the job, the actual cost will be
determined by the actual time spent, which may take a little less or a little more time
(we take into account 15 minute increments).

The movers will not transport perishable products, nor will they transport any hazardous objects. We also do not transport plants or weapons, and our services do not include animal transportation.
