About Marble Falls, TX
Marble Falls is a city in the Texas Hill Country. It was built around a lake and has a small center area. Johnson Park is near Lake Marble Falls, and Westside Park is next to Backbone Creek. Both of these parks are popular spots in the area, which affects the amount of traffic and parking near the water on the weekends.
The City’s Comprehensive Plan maps show key areas like Downtown East, Downtown West, and the Downtown Enhancement area. These areas are used for planning and for quickly seeing “where is all the action?” The official district names and improvement routes can be found in the City’s Comprehensive Plan and Map 4.7, which is called the “Special Area Planning Map.”
Moving Process in Marble Falls, TX
Before the move, during the move, and after the move are the three parts of moving with Move & Care. Here are the specifics about Marble Falls that will help your move go more smoothly.
1. Preparation
The most important thing is access once your date is set. In Marble Falls, moves often depend on where the truck can stage, how long it takes to load, and whether there are any rules in the building or area.
Choose how you will pack. If you use our packing service, we’ll protect your things with blankets, stretch wrap, and the right boxes. If you are packing by yourself, begin early and use a list—our packing guide will help you avoid last-minute damage risks.
Check out these facts about the area before you move:
- Roads and route timing. The main roads that go through Marble Falls are US 281 and SH 71. TxDOT says that US 281 is a local road and a commuter highway, and it can be “the only access” to many subdivisions, businesses, and schools. TxDOT also says that SH 71 is the main road from Austin to the Hill Country and Highland Lakes area. If your pick-up or delivery is close to the junction, check out TxDOT’s project information for the US 281 at SH 71 interchange.
- Downtown staging and parking. There may not be a lot of curb room in and around downtown, and some properties depend on on-street parking a lot. The City’s downtown district guidelines talk about on-street parking in the right-of-way and downtown parking requirements in detail, which is helpful when planning where a moving truck can safely stage. Check out the City document Downtown (DN) District.
- Neighborhood rules and new development access. Marble Falls keeps adding new neighborhoods and multi-family homes, which can mean gate codes, tighter parking, or deliveries that happen in stages. The City posts information about ongoing projects under Development Activity (including multi-family apartments and subdivision phases). If your address is in a newer development (for example near the US 281/SH 71 area shown on the City’s planning maps), make sure you know about any HOA or site rules ahead of time.
The permit/parking truth (Marble Falls): A city permit is usually not needed for small home moves where the truck can fit in a private driveway. But if you need to block a lane, put up barriers, or use the public right-of-way in any other way (especially close to downtown), check with the City to see what the rules are. If you have questions about the right-of-way or the streets in Marble Falls, start with Public Works. For information on the City’s Special Event Permit, look at Special Event Permit guidance, which clarifies what the City considers traffic-interrupting activity (even if you aren’t hosting an “event”).
Stay organized with a list—our moving checklist can help you keep track of things like bills, address changes, and “first night” necessities.
2. The Move
On the day of the move, our team shows up at the time they said they would and goes over the access plan with you first. If packing is part of the service, we pack and protect your things, take apart furniture as needed, pad and wrap it, and load it while making sure the weight is spread out evenly and each room is labeled.
You can plan for a stop at storage as part of the trip if you need it between homes.
3. After the Move
When we deliver, we put things in the rooms you pick and put furniture back together based on the layout plan you give us. You’ll have time to look over your things and make sure everything got here safely before we leave.
About Pricing
Move & Care has a simple pricing structure: flat rates for long-distance moves and hourly rates for local moves.
If your Marble Falls move is close (within ~150 miles of Austin), hourly rates usually work. If you’re moving across state lines or within Texas, flat-rate pricing is usually best because it keeps costs tied to the agreed-upon scope and route plan.
More About PricingF.A.Q. about moving in Marble Falls, TX
Yes, our moving company is fully licensed for local moves within the state. While interstate movers are regulated by the United States Department of Transportation (USDOT), local moving companies are regulated by the state. We also have individual state licenses wherever our offices are located: Massachusetts (MC Number: 1018431), North Carolina (NCUC Number: C-3067) and Texas (TXDMV: 009636518C).
Local moves with Move and Care are generated at an hourly rate. When we
determine your moving plan, we also determine the approximate labor time and the
number of movers needed. The number of movers determines the hourly
rate. If your move is large, more movers means faster work and lower cost.
Your quota will give you an approximate cost of the job, the actual cost will be
determined by the actual time spent, which may take a little less or a little more time
(we take into account 15 minute increments).
