About Temple, TX

Which part of Temple you go to changes how the city feels because it is on the I-35 corridor in Bell County. You can get to the traditional center more quickly from Downtown and Midtown. The Temple Medical & Educational District links the areas around Baylor Scott & White, Temple College, the VA campus, the Bioscience District, and the Texas A&M Health Science Center to housing and services.

Temple also has places where the way people live changes as they move. In the city’s Historic Neighborhood District, there are older homes with a wider range of layouts. On the other hand, moves near TMED and Downtown may take more care in figuring out where the truck can stop and how far the things need to be moved.

The main thing to remember about moving is that Temple is not a flat grid. If you move close to Downtown, parking may become more difficult. The Outer Loop and other nearby highway work can change the routes on the west and north sides. If your route goes along I-35 or the Loop 363 / US 190 / SH 36 corridor, timing may be more important than the distance shown on the map. This is because TxDOT is constantly planning and improving these corridors to ease traffic, improve mobility, and make them safer.

🏙️ The City of Temple has information about the city, official neighborhood district tools, and TxDOT’s I-35 Segment 1 and Segment 2 project pages show you what’s going on with the roads right now.

Moving Process in Temple, TX

Moving with Move & Care consists of three phases: planning, the actual move, and after the move.

The steps are easy to follow, but the details are important, especially if the address has limited parking, a longer carry, or tighter access.

1. Preparation

You asked for an estimate, confirmed the date, and picked the services you wanted. The next step depends on the plan you chose, but packing is always the most important thing to do before a move.

Based on the size of the job, we can pack for you before the move or on moving day if you use our packing service. You should read our packing guide and start packing early if you want to do some or all of the work yourself. Don’t wait until the last few days.

Before you move to Temple, you should think about a few useful things:

  1. Do the rules at your place say anything? Some moves are as easy as pulling into the driveway, while others require more work around the curb, shared parking, or a longer carry from where the truck can safely stop.
  2. How are things with parking? It looks like Temple doesn’t have a simple citywide moving truck permit page, so don’t think that a reserved curb space will be free when you need it. The city does publish parking rules for downtown, which include 2-hour zones and parking-position requirements. A Street Use License is also included in the city’s list of planning applications and fees. In other words, you might not need a special permit for many residential moves. But if you need to use the curb space or the public right-of-way in a way that isn’t normal for your move, you should call the city ahead of time.
  3. Does the timing of the route matter? Tell your move manager if you need to use I-35, Loop 363 / US 190 / SH 36, or a connection that will be touched by the Outer Loop. A smart start time can help you plan your day better.
  4. Do you need a full plan for the move? Use our moving checklist to make sure that things like forwarding mail, setting up utilities, packing, and other last-minute needs are taken care of before the move.

Ask if you’re not sure how changing your address will affect the move. We don’t just provide movers and a truck; it’s also our job to help you plan the move in a useful way before the big day.

2. The Move

When moving day comes, our crew shows up at the time they said they would and gets to work. If that service is included, they pack your things in your presence, disassemble furniture as needed, cover it with moving blankets and other materials, and load the truck in a methodical fashion.

Following the move plan, the group makes any necessary stops at storage units along the way. The process remains the same: carefully protect, load, transport, and unload. Temple routing can be simple or a little more complicated based on the address.

3. After the Move

Your things are unloaded by the movers and placed in the rooms you designate at the new location. In order to prevent your home from turning into a maze of boxes, we can also reassemble furniture and place bigger items where you want them.

We also take care of unpacking if that was part of the package. You can check the move at the end to make sure everything is in order and that the job was done the way it was assigned.

About Pricing

There are two types of prices at Move & Care: hourly rates for local moves and flat-rate estimates for long-distance and interstate moves.

There are a few real factors that affect how long and how much it costs to move in Temple. These include how easy it is to park at each address, how far the crew has to carry the things, whether the move is in a residential area or a more crowded area like Downtown or TMED, and whether traffic on I-35, Loop 363, US 190, or Outer Loop connections affects the route. There is an extra service called packing, and you can choose whether to have the whole house packed, just the fragile items, or just some of it. It depends on your budget and schedule.

F.A.Q. about moving in Temple, TX

Yes, our moving company is fully licensed for local moves within the state. While interstate movers are regulated by the United States Department of Transportation (USDOT), local moving companies are regulated by the state. We also have individual state licenses wherever our offices are located: Massachusetts (MC Number: 1018431), North Carolina (NCUC Number: C-3067) and Texas (TXDMV: 009636518C).

Local moves with Move and Care are generated at an hourly rate. When we determine your moving plan, we also determine the approximate labor time and the number of movers needed. The number of movers determines the hourly rate. If your move is large, more movers means faster work and lower cost.

Your quota will give you an approximate cost of the job, the actual cost will be determined by the actual time spent, which may take a little less or a little more time (we take into account 15 minute increments).

Find out more on our pricing page.

Move and Care provides two types of insurance. Basic insurance (Released Value Protection) - this is free and is included by default in any of our services. The movers will not transport perishable products, nor will they transport any hazardous objects. We also do not transport plants or weapons, and our services do not include animal transportation.
