Delivery at your Philadelphia address
Curb space for the truck is yours to reserve under the city's rules. We advise on it, but we do not file permits or post signs. In a building with an elevator or a loading dock, book the slot for your delivery day and send us the time. If the manager asks for a Certificate of Insurance, get the exact wording and pass it to us. We issue the certificate from it.
Stairs, a long walk from the truck or a narrow street change how long unloading takes. Put them in your item list, along with the same details for your Austin address, so the rate is set with them in it.
Tolls on the way north
The route this price is measured on pays tolls in Maryland and Delaware, and the rate you book already counts them. Three of them:
- The Baltimore Harbor Tunnel, I-895, under the harbor in Baltimore.
- The John F. Kennedy Memorial Highway, the 50 miles of I-95 from Baltimore to the Delaware line. The Maryland Transportation Authority collects its toll only from northbound traffic, at a plaza one mile north of the Millard Tydings Memorial Bridge over the Susquehanna River (MDTA toll facilities).
- The I-95 Newark Toll Plaza in Delaware (DelDOT).
The road from Austin
Out of Austin the truck runs north on I-35 to Dallas and east on I-30 to Little Rock. I-40 takes it across the rest of Arkansas and most of Tennessee, the longest stretch at 550 miles. Next comes I-81, 376 miles northeast through East Tennessee and the valleys of western Virginia. From there it turns east on I-66, swings around Washington on the Capital Beltway and heads north on I-95. The last miles come in on Penrose Avenue, the Schuylkill Expressway and the Vine Street Expressway.
Three days at the wheel
About 24 hours of driving sit between the two city halls. A truck driver may drive 11 hours a day at most, so the drive alone fills three days. The rest of the window covers loading, your delivery slot and the weather, and delivery is planned for 4 to 7 days after loading.

Pennsylvania title, plates and license
PennDOT gives a new resident 20 days from establishing residency to apply for a Pennsylvania title and registration for the car. Once the car is registered, it has ten days to pass a Pennsylvania safety inspection. Your driver's license follows a longer clock: new residents have 60 days to get a Pennsylvania license (PennDOT, motor vehicle information for new residents).
