Request a QuoteMiami is a bustling oceanfront city in South Florida, at the state's southeastern corner. Thanks to its perpetual warm climate, multicultural population, beach and international proximity and ambiance, it's one of the top places to relocate for those coming down from the Northeast. No matter if you are relocating for the lifestyle, the economy, or just to get away from Boston winters, Miami presents a radical change of pace with plenty of things to do and attractions to visit.
Miami's crime index is 7, as ranked by NeighborhoodScout, making it safer than only 7% of cities in the U.S. As with any major metro city, however, the crime rates do vary depending on the neighborhood. Areas like Brickell, Coral Gables, and Coconut Grove are safer and more residential, while some of the neighborhoods closer to the urban center can be busier.
In spite of crime issues in certain areas, Miami continues to be appealing to young professionals, telecommuters, and retirees. With its vibrant nightlife, top-notch dining and art scene, and outdoor activities such as boating, biking, and beachcombing—there is something for everybody here.
Miami is well connected by roads such as I-95 and the Palmetto Expressway (SR 826), and although traffic may get busy at times, Miami does have public transportation such as Metrorail and Metromover. Miami International Airport also makes national and international travel extremely convenient.
Miami real estate is costly and more competitive than most cities but still often lower-priced than Boston. Miami's median home price as of February 2025 was about $585,611 (Zillow.com), and the average rent for a one-bedroom apartment ranged from $2,136 (Apartments.com).
For further specific information, please refer to the official website of the City of Miami or online forums such as the Miami subreddit.
Preparation is the most important thing when planning a long-distance move such as Boston to Miami. You can pack yourself using our moving guides, or we can partially or fully pack for you—whichever fits your time and requirement best.
Inform us if you carry high-value or specialty items like heirlooms, antiques, or over-sized furniture (yes, we move pianos too). If we're doing the packing, our crew can come on moving day or beforehand to get everything ready.
Pro Tip: Stay on top of it all and in control of your Miami move with our moving checklist.
Our professional Boston to Miami moving team will pack, disassemble, and load your items carefully into our trucks. You'll have to go along with us so that we can get everything ready before we leave. When we arrive in Miami, we will unload, assemble your furniture, and put all your items where they belong.
Need storage? We can store temporarily and deliver to your new Miami home at your convenience when you're ready.
All the trucks are equipped with GPS tracking so that you can monitor your move at any time.
Once all your belongings have arrived at your new Miami home, we don't just vanish. If you've bought unpacking services, our crew will assist you in getting settled in by unpacking and putting everything where it's supposed to go as agreed.
❓ Need assistance afterward? We are here after the move for any inquiries or follow-up service.
