Metro Nashville rewrote its large vehicle rule in December 2025, in ordinance BL2025-956 (Metro Code section 12.40.180). Box trucks count as large vehicles. One may stand on a public street only in daylight and only while it serves the home. It has to leave 12 feet of road clear for traffic, or a 12-foot lane each way (24 feet in all) where the street has a center line, and it has to be gone within 30 minutes of finishing. Parking there overnight is not allowed at all. The ordinance sends unloading to loading zones, alleys and loading docks first (Metro Council, BL2025-956).

So when you book, tell us what the Nashville address offers: a driveway, an alley, a dock, or only the street, and roughly how wide that street is. If your building has a loading dock or a freight elevator, reserve it for the delivery day. When the truck has to stand farther from the door, the crew carries longer, and that carry is part of what your estimate prices.

One hour back on I-40

The federal line between Eastern and Central time runs along the edge of Roane County, Tennessee (49 CFR 71.5). The truck crosses it on I-40, and Nashville runs one hour behind Boston. When a Nashville building gives you an elevator or dock slot, that time is Central; check it against the Boston calendar you planned the move on.
