The Moving Process with Boston to DC Movers
1. Preparations
The first issue that should be addressed before the immediate move: packing. You can pack all of your belongings yourself (check out our DIY packing guide) or use a packing and unpacking service in Boston. You can determine how packing with Move and Care will go: either we take care of the entire process, or we pack individual rooms and/or individual items.
We will also ask you to provide a list of special items (possibly photos as well) that require special attention during the move. This could be unusual large-sized furniture, pianos, antiques, mirrors, or other items.
If you choose a packing service from Move and Care, the team will be there most often on the day of the move. If we are moving a large home or business, a separate day or days may be required.

2. The Actual Move
On moving day, our movers will arrive at your Boston location. Your belongings will be packed, furniture will be disassembled and wrapped, and then loaded into the truck. You need to be present during the process to make sure everything goes smoothly and answer any questions you may have.
Your belongings are then transported to Washington, DC. Upon arrival, we unload all of your belongings in predetermined locations and assemble your furniture. Unfortunately, we only transport belongings, so customers make their own way to the second location.
If your moving plan includes storage, provides transportation to and from the storage location.

3. Post-Move
Once you arrive at your new place in Washington, DC, we will help you arrange and organize your belongings that would be hard to handle alone (this includes large furniture, appliances, and the like). If unpacking is part of the package, we will also do a full unpacking of your belongings.

Move and Care provides two types of insurance. Basic insurance (Released Value Protection) - this is free and is included by default in any of our services. Move and Care guarantees liability for no more than 60 cents per pound per item. And Full Value Protection - this insurance means that any damage is fully covered, but there is an additional charge.
The estimate received for your move after our manager has called you and resolved all possible issues and questions: is final. With Move and Care long distance moving prices are set on a flat rate. The price will not change after the move is completed! All costs will be specified in your quote, no surprises and no hidden costs.
The movers will not transport perishable products, nor will they transport any hazardous objects. We also do not transport plants or weapons, and our services do not include animal transportation.
